The company is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic design team. The role focuses on commercial office real estate, restaurants/bars, and high-end residential projects. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Department and work closely with a team of design engineers, including mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as an associate director, to support and lead MEP design projects.

Role Description:

The company is seeking a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join their London-based design team. The primary focus will be on commercial office real estate, restaurants/bars, and high-end residential projects. The candidate will report to the Head of Department and work closely with a dynamic team of design engineers.

Responsibilities include:

Leading feasibility and concept electrical design stages through to RIBA Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Collaborating with architects, project managers, managing agents, and direct clients.

Producing electrical design schematics, calculations, tender issue drawings, and technical schedules.

Developing electrical design standards and AutoCAD/BIM templates.

Conducting electrical surveys, energy analysis, consultancy, and troubleshooting.

Liaising with electrical utility companies for new or upgraded electrical supplies to support mechanical projects transitioning from gas to grid power.

Managing electrical plant replacement projects, including ASHP, PV, generators, switchgear/distribution, lighting, controls, fire detection systems, and EV charging.

This role is suited for a Senior Electrical Engineer with over five years of experience in technical electrical design and building services/MEP engineering. The ideal candidate will excel in:

Electrical services design, feasibility, and infrastructure design.

Feasibility report writing and lighting design.

Communication skills for both written and verbal exchanges with clients and contractors.

Troubleshooting building services problems.

Commercial acumen for business development and identifying client growth opportunities.

Technical project monitoring and commissioning management.
