Our client, a prominent consultancy in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a Clerk of Works to join their team on a contract basis. This role is crucial for ensuring that construction projects comply with contract drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and inspecting construction work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Liaising with contractors and project managers to address any issues or discrepancies
- Preparing detailed reports on construction progress, workmanship, and quality
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed on site at all times
- Verifying materials, equipment, and labour are in accordance with project requirements
- Documenting and reporting any variations from the contract
- Conducting regular site visits to keep abreast of project developments
- Providing feedback and recommending corrective actions when necessary
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a Clerk of Works role or similar
- Strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues
- Proficiency in preparing detailed site reports
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
