Maylim Landscapes are an award winning 'Architect design led'  company -  we are looking for a passionate and motivated Lead Gardener/Supervisor with a professional and proactive approach to the garden care and maintenance.

Our projects are all high-end landscaping shcemes across London. We operate across public realm, roof terraces, public parks, residential, commercial and government spaces.

We are currently growing our maintenance division and look to nurture, develop and promote our best people into supervisory and management roles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture and team leadership, with a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces for the well-being and benefit of stakeholders and general public. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery, fostering a culture of health and safety and teamwork. Administration and reporting. Mentoring and development of your team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor landscape maintenance staff, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Review & implement the landscape maintenance plan to deliver the highest standards of service and care upheld by the company.
  • Compile detailed daily briefings and maintenance reports using a software reporting system.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met across all activities and where required ensure Risk Assessments are carried out, reviewed and approved.
  • Oversee and perform routine maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, trimming and pruning of trees, shrubs and herbaceous.
  • Plant, transplant, and care for trees and shrubs according to seasonal requirements.
  • Apply fertilizers, feed as needed, following safety guidelines and regulation
  • Take care of equipment and tools and vehicle to ensure they are in good working condition and report any replacements needed. Keep inventory of van.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  Knowledge / Technical:

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in the Supervision or management and maintenance of soft landscaping
  • A recognised horticultural qualification
  • Professional qualification in landscape management and/or horticulture - NVQ Level 3 minimum preffered
  • CSCS card preferred
  • Ability to work full-time and travel across London
  • Driving License

  • Working as ‘one team’ across multiple different project sites each week to deliver exceptional service and results.
  • Demonstrable leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
  • A self-starter who is organised and proactive without a need to be managed closely.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to plan visits to several sites every week and adhere to deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to develop a career in the horticultural industry.

Previous Experience:

  • 2 years+ experience in the following: pruning, pest and disease control, planting, irrigation, turf care, use of horticultural machinery.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality and environmental issues relevant to the project environment.
