About the RoleMy client are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Services Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team at a flagship health care facility. In this critical position, you will play an integral role in maintaining the essential mechanical systems of a state-of-the-art building, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Perform scheduled maintenance on mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC, boilers, pumps, and medical gas systems, to ensure optimum operation and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Reactive Maintenance & Repairs: Respond promptly to breakdowns or faults, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise disruption to health care services.
- System Optimisation: Monitor and adjust system performance to maximise energy efficiency, compliance, and comfort within the hospital environment.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate service records, work logs, and reports for health and safety compliance audits.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety policies and infection control standards, particularly when working in patient care areas.
What We're Looking For:
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or building services (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within health care or other critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, medical gases, and plumbing.
- Familiarity with HTM standards and infection control protocols is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
