Derivatives Analyst

Industry: InsuranceHybrid - 3 days in the office£60,000 + 15% Bonus

Role overview:

As a Derivative Analyst you will be responsible for overseeing the operational and risk management aspects of derivative instruments within an organisation. This role ensures that all derivative activities are conducted in compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. You will be serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on derivative risks, providing critical support to internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth execution of daily derivative operations.

THE ROLE:

* Developing processes and procedures to ensure derivative operations are functioning within policy standards.

* Completion of daily derivative operations retained services / tasks are managed effectively and are in line with market and regulatory deadlines and best practice.

* Proactively working with stakeholders, and third party providers (Investment Managers, Brokers, Custodians, Fund Accountants) to ensure all asset services activities are managed.

* To monitor and reconcile collateral positions with Investment Manager and ensure sufficient liquidity availability, for daily margin calls.

* To monitor derivative risks and ensure they are in line with Risk appetite.

* Assist third parties with agreed retained services delivery for the respective service area.

* Monitor the service delivery KPI / KRIs and escalate issues accordingly.

* Proactively identify control weaknesses relating to derivative operations services operating model and recommend and implement procedural and process change.

* Ensure end to end understanding of all operational tasks and how they relate and impact all processes. Ensure standard ways of working are applied consistently.

* Manage operational risk and issues within team and outsourced provider, regularly review and identify further opportunities for risk mitigation.
