The Mobility business has a company owned presence of over 500+ service stations. As a Non-Fuel Retail business, CR UK sources goods and services across a broad spectrum of FMCG categories. It works to a business model in which the company does not take stock ownership but works with contracted organisations who offer an integrated service. This will include the procurement and distribution of goods and services out to company owned service stations. Due to the wide scope of work, he/she must have strong analytical skills and the experience needed to interrogate reports and market data to provide robust recommendations. He/she must be an expert in the use of JDA Space Planning Tools, this must however be combined with strong stakeholder management skills. There will be simultaneous timelines and he/she be required to champion the pursuit of incremental sales, revenue across the UK retail business. The role will need to form clear and robust ways of working between the Category Management and Supply Chain Teams.Must Have:• Minimum 5 Years experience in both micro and macro space planning with either a retailer or blue-chip FMCG supplier• High technical competence, with expert knowledge of JDA/INTACTIX/Spaceman/Omniscope software including assortment optimisation and floor planning combined with full knowledge of AutoCAD, Macromedia Flash, CKB Planogram Generator and core MI tools (Excel, Business Objects & Power BI). • Strong analytical skills: robust analytical skills with a rounded understanding of retail alongside the dynamics of the shopper, underpinned by a deep consumer led mindset.• Strong commercial acumen: demonstrable understanding of the metrics for sales, margin, profitability and performance per linear metre supported with strong understanding of other influencing factors.Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:• Utilise space planning software to deliver the most efficient and effective implementation of the CR UK proposition.• Ensure optimal use of micro and macro space; undertake robust assessments of sales per linear metre metrics across the network for assigned categories and/or formats.• Provide macro store plans for 40 new store openings, expansions and resets (including layouts, category selection and merchandising equipment) to ensure best use of space for customer demographic or format type across various store assortments.• Lead up to 50 range reviews, working in close collaboration with CR UK Category Managers to augment CR revenue in line with stretching T&R Targets. Averaging 5000 SKU changes per annum with expected sales uplift of 20% per review• Ensure assortment optimisation across the portfolio of categories sold within the company; review data metrics for each product, category and fixture size to maximise sales, margin and profit performance.• Utilising Global Space Planning modules, present recommendations for new space allocations or equipment solutions that will drive incremental sales and margin growth. • Provide month-to-month planogram support to maximise sales performance from seasonal, NPD and promotional features. • Ensure space to sales ratios are optimised by format and within acceptable parameters.• Act as custodian of category space to protect the License to Operate; ensuring service stations are compliant with licensing or age-related product regulations and/or guidelines.• Undertake and maintain demographic profiling & clustering solution modules. • Sustain a proactive awareness of market trends, consumer need states and shopper missions, ensuring a customer centric approach to all space planning activities.• Maintain a product and image database in support of the software system.• Establish a cross-functional relationship across Category Management, Supply Chain, Sales and Network• Maintain up to 1000 ad-hoc supply chain partner product changes onto space planning software/database systems.• Attendance to multiple supplier category sessions as SME for space assortments ensuring independent alignment across various senior stakeholders.This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
