Montessori Head Teacher – Islington -  Starting ASAP

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed Head Teacher to join a committed and supportive team at a vibrant nursery school in Islington.  This is a permanent, year-round position that is available to start as soon as possible!

The roleAs a Montessori Head Teacher, it is your duty to provide safe, high-quality education and care for children attending the nursery., and to fulfil legal and statutory requirements and to supervise staff on a day-to-day basis.  You should be confident with contributing to and implement Nursery policies, and showing and providing effective team leadership i.e. having ability to lead a team, manage effectively and efficiently, upholding positive working relationships and be an effective mentor.  Overall, it is your duty to manage the provision of the nursery ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.

The ideal candidate The nursery believes the quality of staff is crucial to pupils’ success and therefore you must have the following:

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or other full and relevant equivalent Early Years qualification)
  • Minimum 1 years’ Team Leadership/Management experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ Nursery experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to: child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and SEN/Inclusion
  • Experience of working as a key worker for a group of children and their families
  • Ability to observe, assess and report on children's behaviour
