Project Surveyor - Temp to Perm Role

One of our clients is a leading building services contractor based in London & Ireland with offices across the UK that work in the commercial construction sector that specialise in the Mechanical & Electrical installations of new build Schools, University Buildings, Hospitals, Factory units.

Main responsibilities

Supporting the Commercial Director in:

  • Management of project costs and contracts.
  • Overseeing and placing of Sub Contracts
  • Overseeing EWN’s notifications
  • Monitoring spend against budget for labour and material.
  • Providing quotations for additional, out of scope, works.
  • Assembling monthly payment applications.
  • Carry out cost / value exercises.
  • Providing cost advice to the client and team
  • The daily running of the Commercial team, which includes Procurement and Workforce Time & Attendance branches.
  • Reviewing delay cost claims with the relevant Operational teams.
  • Aiding in the commercial awareness of Operational teams, including taking them through their yearly budgets.
  • Managing data reporting metrics for success against agreed KPIs.
  • Data forecasting for labour and material.

Essential

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying and  Commercial Management or related field.
  • Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including being able to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary.
  • The ability to work effectively as a leader and part of a team.
  • Being able analyse and understand data and present it to others in differing formats.
  • The ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.

Desirable

  • A working knowledge of SAP or similar programs.
  • An understanding of NEC Form of Contracts
