An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Mental Health Inpatient Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team in an NHS hospital setting. This role is available for an immediate start, offering flexible working hours and a competitive pay rate.

Key Details:

• Role: Band 6 Mental Health Inpatient Occupational Therapist
• Location: South London
• Start Date: ASAP
• Hourly Pay Rate: £24 - £26 per hour (via umbrella)
• Weekly Hours: 26 hours per week (up to 4 days, flexible on which days)
• Contract Type: Temporary, with the possibility of extension
• Setting: NHS Hospital

Role Overview: The successful candidate will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to adult inpatients within a mental health setting. They will work with individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges, delivering patient-centred interventions aimed at improving their independence and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Develop and implement individual treatment plans tailored to each patient.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Promote independence and recovery-focused goals through therapeutic activities.
• Provide expert advice and support to staff and patients in relation to mental health and well-being.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in line with NHS standards.

The Ideal Candidate:

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
• Proven experience working in mental health settings, ideally within inpatient services.
• Excellent communication, assessment, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.
