We are seeking a Band 6 Locum Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team based in Newham. This position is available due to the departure of the current post holder and will provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to a specialist, client-centered occupational therapy service. The successful candidate will manage a defined caseload of complex cases, working autonomously and applying clinical reasoning to deliver high-quality care in line with evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a specialist, client-centered occupational therapy service to a designated client group.
  • Manage a caseload of complex cases independently, demonstrating effective problem-solving and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Assess client needs and formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan aimed at reducing the impact of disability and ill health.
  • Provide supervision, teaching, and appraisal for junior occupational therapists, assistants, students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy service.
  • Work within a client-centered and evidence-based framework, ensuring the delivery of best practices in patient care.
Requirements:
  • Occupational Therapy degree or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in managing complex cases and working as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Car driver is desirable but not essential.
