AV Service Engineer - up to £50k

Lorien's client, an AV company with considerable scale in the UK and Europe, are looking for multiple AV service engineers to join their team in London. This is part of their growth and will be providing reactive support and planed preventative maintenance for their corporate, government & retail clients in environments including boardrooms, video walls, meeting rooms, DSP, Video Conferencing, and digital signage, and more.

This is a critical role for the company and is well supported with mentoring, training/investment in skills, and regular salary reviews to ensure professional growth and career development within the company. Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Performing site visits to clients, troubleshooting complex AV systems, providing break-fix repairs or other solutions, escalating where required.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance to a high standard, ensuring all system checks are performed and documented correctly.
  • Communicating effectively through verbal and written situational updates to aid the incident management process.
  • Maintaining a strong foundation of Audio-Visual knowledge across Pro AV, AV over IP/networking, Microsoft, DSP, and general IT, seeking and partaking in training/certifications where required to develop skillsets.
  • Explaining faults to clients in a format they can easily understand, affirming the timescale and process which will be followed to resolve any problems within agreed SLAs and escalating to management if this is at risk.
  • Positively represent the company, their values and professionalism, following policies and guidelines.

Skills required:

  • Our client is open to senior and junior candidates so varying levels of skills experience will be considered, however some level of knowledge/experience supporting Pro AV, Control Systems, AV over IP, networking, DSP, Microsoft Teams Room systems and/or Digital signage will be required.
  • An understanding and passion for becoming an expert in:
    • Troubleshooting/simple programming of Crestron, AMX, and others
    • Fault finding/configuring DSP, such as Biamp, Clearone and Q-Sys
    • Complex AV systems - control, audio, and video
    • Digital signage, Satellite, and IPTV systems, such as Tripleplay, Exterity, OneLan and MediaStar.
  • Strong customer service mindset to effectively resolve client concerns in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to translate issues and resolutions to non-technical users to be easy to understand.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • A track record of process-driven fault-finding methods within professional AV, ideally within a corporate environment.
