Job Purpose:A Portfolio Office Manager is required by our Public Sector client to develop and lead a high quality portfolio, programme and project management function, contributing to their vision to build a sustainable in-house transformation capability. You will be required to manage a multi-practice portfolio office, overseeing the planning and prioritisation of multiple programmes, risk management, benefits management and programme analysis and reporting, to enable business transformation to be delivered successfully and efficiently

Key Responsibilities:•    Champion and implement portfolio management: o    Ensure that there is effective provision of support and guidance to the programmes across the key P3M specialisms, ensuring consistency of approach, ways of working and processes o    Ensure that the portfolio office stays on top of latest developments in the sector and the business world, and captures lessons learnt to inform future ways of workingo    Provides authoritative advice and guidance on specialist project control methodologies, tools and techniques, processes and practices, and ensure the PO sets the standards for other P3M capabilities.•    Provide overall direction and leadership for portfolio delivery o    Work and build strong relationships with the transformation director, programme managers and senior leaders across Transformation and Strategy including IT, HR, commercial and finance) to understand the transformation agenda and emerging business requestso    Oversee and coordinate the work undertaken by the portfolio office ensuring that PPM activity is well planned, is of high quality and is aligned across the programme delivery functiono    Ensure the portfolio delivery is aligned to the strategic aims, and strategic/performance framework in terms of benefits measures and metrics of success o    Ensure that governance and controls are in place across the portfolio including standards, •    Ensure delivery of portfolio-level outcomes and benefits   o    Align the portfolio in line with priorities in order to achieve planned benefitso    Track and report on portfolio performance, providing a real time comprehensive and prioritised view of the change portfolio, programmes and projects to the SLT and key stakeholders

Experience•    Experience of senior leadership within a complex change portfolio•    Experience of building capability and leading transformation teams in a large and complex organisation•    Experience of influencing, negotiating with, and providing challenge to board-level stakeholders •    Experience of working effectively with risk within a complex change portfolio•    Experience of creating and managing commercial relationships, assuring quality and delivering value for money•    Experience of providing technical expertise across P3M specialisms
