Allocations Casework Officer - Housing - Hybrid

Our client is seeking a dedicated Allocations Casework Officer to support the implementation of a new Housing Allocations Scheme. This role is crucial in assisting Housing Register applicants, providing clear guidance on policy changes, and ensuring a smooth transition for those affected.

In this role, you will manage a varied and complex caseload, ensuring that each case is recorded, monitored, and driven to resolution efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for Housing Register applicants, responding to queries via email and telephone, offering guidance on the new Allocation Scheme, documentation requirements, and resolving any data discrepancies. Your ability to provide proactive solutions and excellent customer service will be key in ensuring applicants feel supported throughout the process.

You will also be responsible for validating and chasing necessary documents from applicants and medical partners, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date. Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, you will provide clear, empathetic, and professional communication at all times. Accuracy in data management is essential, as you will be updating systems and maintaining case records to ensure smooth operational processes. A strong understanding of policy changes and their impact on applicants will allow you to confidently navigate complex cases and provide clear explanations to those in need.

The ideal candidate will have experience in housing advice, housing allocations, or housing register services, with excellent case management skills and the ability to handle complex queries. Strong written and verbal communication is essential, as well as confidence in managing telephone conversations with applicants in a supportive and solution-focused manner. Experience using the Orchard MRI housing system is desirable.

This role offers hybrid working, with an initial period of in-office training required. There are no budgetary or line management responsibilities.
