Our client is a well-established, large organisation within the pharmaceutical industry. They have a robust presence in the UK and are recognised for their commitment to delivering high-quality products to a broad customer base. The growing team are now looking for a Financial Controller (Part time) to run operations from their London office.

Description

The key responsibilities of this Financial Controller (Part time) role will be:

  • Build and maintain financial models and statements to support forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting processes
  • Maintaining the accounting ledger and overseeing our third-party accounting firm for preparation of financial statements, ensuring proper and timely invoicing, monitoring payables/receivables, and overseeing compliance
  • Analyse, understand, and communicate variance drivers compared to our internal
  • forecast
  • Synthesise complex financial analysis into easily digestible and actionable communications for stakeholders to support decision-making
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare necessary documentation for VAT returns and annual tax returns, manage tax filings with third party provider, and ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations

Profile

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • 4 - 7 years of UK GAAP accountancy experience, preferably within retail or FMCG sectors
  • Start-up experience highly valued)
  • Must hold a Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification or equivalent
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to run against problems with little direction,
  • experience knowing when and how to escalate effectively
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; strong financial modeling
  • capabilities
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Xero is beneficial
