Hourly Rate: £18.76 per hour PAYE or £23.99 per hour Umbrella

Contract: 3 -6 month temporary contract, with view for further extension thereafter

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week - hybrid working available

We are currently recruiting for a HR Support Officer on behalf of our public sector client in East London.

This role requires a good knowledge of working with HR IT systems, spreadsheets and databases. Previous experience with Resource Link will be an advantage.

  • Ensure all administrative work relating to the employee life cycle within the organisation is carried out in a timely and efficient manner
  • Interrogate HR systems to identify and correct and discrepancies and ensure staff are awarded the correct entitlements (e.g., annual leave, working hours, salary and continuous service) and ensure overpayments and discrepancies in employee records are avoided
  • Undertake establishment cleansing and implement relevant changes on HR systems, inputting accurate data in a timely manner through creation of posts, structures and amendment of management reporting lines and service conditions.
  • Ensure new and extension of employee job changes are processed in a timely and professional manner, enabling prompt and accurate payments to be made to employees by adhering to strict payroll deadlines, i.e. changes to working hours, cost code changes, grade changes, increments, backdated grade amendments, long service awards, etc
  • Assist with the development of the existing HR IT systems by carrying out regular UAT testing and identifying any system issues
  • Accurately maintain and update HR systems in relation to employee, details including new and amended contracts and terms and conditions of service and personal information
  • Promptly address employee queries and concerns through a dedicated HR inbox, signposting queries and questions to the right teams and individuals
  • Respond to Subject Access Requests, respond to references, exit questionnaires, confirmation of employment, financial reference requests, providing copies of payslips and P60s, changing reporting lines, processing payment requests for long service awards through completion of AP1 forms
  • Work in conjunction with colleagues in HRA & HR BP team with project work including TUPE transfers, restructures, reviews and establishment cleansing
  • To maintain high levels of confidentiality in respect of personnel documentation in accordance with service standards and the GDPR
