We are seeking a dedicated staff member to join an established secondary school in East London.  You will be responsible for the operational finance function. This role is integral to the smooth financial operations of the school, including processing transactions, responding to queries, and supporting budget monitoring.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process purchase orders and ensure timely payment of invoices while creating sales invoices.
  • Prepare for weekly cheque and BACS payment runs.
  • Support the monthly budget monitoring process.
  • Check Free School Meals (FSM) and post-16 bursary eligibility and administer payments.
  • Act as a fire warden and a member of the school’s first aid team.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the school and contribute to the general good order and discipline.
  • Promote positive relationships with sponsors, partners, and the local community, including parents and local businesses.
  • Implement school policies and procedures, safeguarding the welfare of students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in an operational finance role.
  • Good understanding of financial processes and budget monitoring.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, students, parents/carers, and external companies.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos and vision of providing outstanding education.
