A brand new primary special needs (SEN) school based Barking and Dagenham is seeking a Special Needs Teacher for an ASD/SLD Class - opportunity in either Early Years of Key Stage 2.

Special Needs Teacher - Barking and Dagenham - Details:

  • Teaching a mixed class, pupils with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Pupils working at P levels
  • Curriculum based loosely on the Early Years curriculum with a particular focus on developing social and communication skills.
  • Work alongside two really friendly and capable learning support assistants (LSAs)
  • Make use of School facilities including Sensory Rooms and extensive outside areas
  • Sociable staff team (regular Friday drinks!)

The successful Special Needs Teacher will need to be;

  • Flexible, with the ability to use their own initiative where required
  • Experienced working in an SEN school or with ASD and SLD children
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clear and up to date DBS
  • UK QTS or an overseas teaching qualification

Ideally the successful applicant will have a proven track record working in an SEN environment but the Headteacher will consider a primary trained teacher with a passion for SEN, a proven track record as a teacher and a can do attitude.
