Corporation Tax & Planning Manager

Part time (3 days per week)

£56K Pro Rata Salary for 3 days per week

The LHH Accountancy & Finance Housing team are delighted to be partnering with a large housing association to recruit for a Corporation Tax and Planning Manager.

This role will be responsible for ensuring Corporation Tax returns for the HA are completed accurately and on time. The successful candidate will also be responsible for gift aid calculations and payments. Additional responsibilities include full ownership of the annual Corporate Interest Restriction calculation and regular presentations to the Board and Senior Leadership Team.

The role requires the postholder to provide tax planning advice to the business across a range of taxes including: (Corporation Tax, VAT, SDLT) to assist the organisation make the best decisions for its customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accurate corporation tax compliance for the group
  • Sole ownership of managing the corporation tax relationship with HMRC
  • Providing sound and credible tax advice across the business
  • Responsible for the producing and publishing the tax strategy for the group
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for tax savings
  • Identify areas of risk and work to minimize and mitigate those risks
  • Ensure appropriate controls and due diligence are in place
  • Providing tax planning advice to the Board and senior leadership of the organization

Skills required:

  • Qualified tax accountant (CTA)
  • Strong commercial awareness with knowledge of budget management, planning and proven experience of leading on risk management.
  • Experience of preparing and delivering persuasive, high quality, written and verbal reports and presentations.
  • Exposure to preparing and presenting written and verbal reports and presentations within the organisation up to Executive and committee level and externally.
  • Proven track record of building and managing effective relationships with Leaders, peers, colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience of providing tax advice on a variety of matters
