About the team and service

Provide a high quality 24 hour 365 day a year alarm monitoring and response service within the council and the surrounding Boroughs. Assistance and reassurance to clients using telecommunications and computerised monitoring equipment. Work in close collaboration with partnering agencies to enable older, disabled and vulnerable residents to live independently. Ensure that the highest standards are maintained when representing the Council and respect the diverse nature of our clients and external partners

£17.54 p/h PAYE - (approx. £21.50 p/h Umbrella - Circa £40K per annum)

36 hours per week

Based in East London

Shifts vary, working on a rota which is arranged fairly over a 24 hour - 365 day rota - may be required to work night shifts with an uplifted rate

About the role

  • Responsible for an efficient, effective, comprehensive, front-line Telecare service, providing information, advice and assistance to service users and other customers or agencies, on the Telecare and out of hours service provided by the Council, by being the first point of contact for calls requiring an action or a visit by the Telecare Officers, other out of hour's staff or agencies.
  • To assess situations and take appropriate action according to the problems found and the needs and wishes of the service user on the Jontek system, telephone or in person
  • To assess, install, programme, check and instruct service users on the usage and testing of all Telecare equipment. Where appropriate to rectify/resolve faults, replace or remove Telecare equipment in service user's homes
  • To carry out all duties in a flexible manner
