Reed are pleased to be recruiting for a 5-partner accountancy practice based in Soho. They are looking for a Bookkeeping and Payroll Assistant to join their team of 30-40 accountants who specialise in working with clients in the music and entertainment industry. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance between payroll processing and bookkeeping, with a focus on delivering high quality service to a portfolio of clients in the music and entertainment sectors.

The role will be around 50/50 bookkeeping vs payroll, and your client portfolio will be 70% clients in the music sector, and the remaining 30% are clients in other entertainment industries.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Payroll processing and submissions and ensure timely delivery to clients.
  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks up to VAT standards.
  • Work on a portfolio of clients, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. • Collaborate with the team to streamline processes and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and QTAC.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a client-facing role in both payroll processing and bookkeeping.
  • Experience working in accountancy practice
  • Familiarity with accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, and QTAC is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients effectively.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues professionally.
  • A proactive approach to work, with a willingness to take on new challenges.
