Portfolio Payroll are partnered with an organisation in the education sector who are currently recruiting for a Head of Payroll, Pensions & Systems to join them on a 2 year FTC basis.

This role will report into the Director of Finance and will be responsible for 3 direct reports.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the payroll & pensions operations for permanent and casual staff
  • Provide expertise on payroll & pension issues
  • Administration of four pension schemes
  • Advise senior management on pension scheme developments
  • Maintain, update & create salary scales on the HR & Payroll system
  • Day to day management and supervision of the payroll team

Experience required:

  • Expeirence of managing a payroll function within a medium or large sized organisation
  • Excellent people management & leadership skills
  • Extensive pension experience, ideally with the following schemes: SAUL, USS, NHSSS
  • Experience in Higher Education or NHS is desirable
  • iTrent systems knowledge desirable
