Payroll Assistant **Immediate Start**(6 months Fixed Term - with extension)Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Payroll Assistant to join their dynamic team on a fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing and a strong understanding of payroll regulations and procedures. This role is integral to ensuring accurate and timely payroll for our Head Office and Freelance staff, as well as managing various payroll-related tasks and employee benefits.Core Responsibilities:- Process monthly payroll for Head Office and Freelance staff.- Collect and input all required new starter documentation such as P45, HMRC New Starter Checklist, bank details, etc.- Manage all employee data input into our payroll system and ensure reporting data is correct (e.g., department).- Ensure all fixed and variable payroll elements are accurate each month and fully checked before processing payroll.- Liaise with relevant departments on any monthly deductions required for payroll (i.e., credit card expenses, salary sacrifice, etc.).- Freelance Payroll: Send out payroll sheets to production, track progress, review sheets, and ensure all contracted employees are included.- Action all necessary work in relation to salary/rates, pensions, statutory sick pay, statutory maternity pay, statutory paternity pay, holiday pay, general absence, etc.- Liaise with our payroll provider to ensure all information is submitted accurately for payroll, resolving any questions that arise.- Perform checks on payroll reports when they come through.- Complete end-of-month payroll reconciliation.- Liaise with HMRC and other appropriate third parties as necessary.- Manage US weekly payroll data input and validation for staff in Los Angeles using Paylocity.Qualifications:- Proven experience in payroll processing and management.- Strong understanding of UK payroll regulations and procedures.- Proficient in using payroll software and systems.- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with various departments and external parties.- Experience with US payroll systems (e.g., Paylocity) is a plus.This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional to contribute to a growing company and ensure the smooth running of our payroll operations.
