This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that provides essential services across multiple locations, playing a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing for a large and dedicated workforce.Responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant will include:
  • Process end-to-end, high-volume monthly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages.
  • Manage payroll inboxes, responding to employee queries efficiently.
  • Process new starters and leavers, ensuring all relevant payroll data is updated.
  • Handle statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and SPP.
  • Monitor and manage employee data and timesheets for payroll accuracy.
  • Generate payroll reports and reconcile payroll data to ensure correctness.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Accurately calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Provide employee support, resolving payroll-related queries from staff and management.
  • Process and maintain essential payroll documentation such as P45s and P60s.
The successful Payroll Assistant will require:
  • Previous experience in payroll processing within a high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory payment processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in payroll calculations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support employees and resolve queries effectively.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
