HOURS: 8:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
SALARY: £33,291-34,779 Full time equivalent
About the Role: As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time. Your keen analytical skills and attention to detail will be key in managing payroll processing, maintaining compliance, and supporting our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Prepare and process monthly payroll with precision, including salary calculations, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Compliance & Taxation: Ensure all payroll practises adhere to relevant laws and regulations, keeping our organisation compliant.
- Data Entry & Maintenance: Maintain and update employee records diligently, ensuring accuracy in salary details, leave balances, and deductions.
- Overtime and Deductions: Carefully verify monthly overtime and staff lunch deductions to ensure correctness.
- Reporting: Compile and submit the payroll reporting pack to our payroll provider punctually, and meticulously review pre-pay reports including salary summaries and tax deductions.
- Issue Resolution: Address employee inquiries regarding payroll with promptness and professionalism, resolving any discrepancies or concerns.
- Benefits Administration: Collaborate with the School Business Manager and HR Officer to manage deductions for pensions and other employee benefits.
- Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing payroll records and relevant documentation as needed.
- Systems Management: Support updates and improvements to our payroll systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding payroll information.
What You Bring:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in payroll software systems, specifically iTrent
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Previous experience in payroll processing or a related field is a must!
