Our client, a leading property management company, is looking for an experienced and meticulous Payroll Specialist to join their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated payroll professional to take on a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a leading business within the property sector. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations, compliance with statutory requirements, and providing excellent service to employees regarding payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly payroll for a large employee base, ensuring all hours, overtime, bonuses, and commissions are accurately recorded and paid.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions.
  • Handle payroll-related queries from employees, addressing concerns and providing solutions in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit PAYE and NIC payments to HMRC, including RTI (Real Time Information) submissions.
  • Administer benefits such as pension schemes, sick pay, and bonuses.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Support year-end processes, including P60/P11D preparation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Work closely with the HR and finance teams to ensure smooth coordination of employee data and financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll role, ideally within the property or real estate sector.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, UK tax legislation, and statutory requirements (RTI, PAYE, NIC, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in payroll software (experience with Sage, BrightPay, or similar systems is desirable).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage payroll-related queries efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
