My client, a global technology business based near WATERLOO STATION is seeking an accomplished PAYROLLER to join their growing business.
PLEASE NOTE : THIS ROLE IS BASED IN THE OFFICE FOR 2 DAYS (Tue and Thu)
THE ROLE
Payroll Processing:
- Accurately process global bi-weekly/monthly payrolls for all employees, including regular, overtime, and incentive payments.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll distribution.
- Maintain payroll records and prepare necessary payroll reports.
Compliance:
- Ensure payroll practices comply with country, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Stay updated with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports and payments in a timely manner.
Employee Support:
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, people operations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.
- Assist with onboarding new employees regarding payroll setup and procedures.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate employee records in the payroll system.
- Ensure data integrity and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy.
- Handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with People team, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Assist with the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency.
Reporting:
- Generate payroll reports for management and audit purposes.
- Provide financial data and reports as required by management.
- Assist with year-end processing and reporting, including P60’s, W-2s and other tax documents.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- 2-3 years payroll experience
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to deal with time pressures within payroll.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable to continuous changes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
- Familiarity with benefits administration and People processes.
