- Providing excellent patient care and professional advice.
- Ensuring the efficient running of the pharmacy.
- Dispensing prescribed medication accurately and safely.
- Advising customers on over-the-counter medication and healthcare products.
- Upholding all legal and ethical standards related to pharmacy operations.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients/consultants relating to queries and issues
- Continually updating knowledge of medicines and health-related products.
- Participating in health promotion campaigns within the pharmacy.
- Oversees and manages operations of the pharmacy department
- Managing pharmacy staff
- Managing inspections of the pharmacy and ensuring compliance with regulations (GPhC, GDP, GMP) and guidelines relating to regulatory and professional bodies.
- Assist in the onboarding process of new hires
- Train staff in prioritising customer orders and delivering them efficiently
- Liaison with wholesalers to obtain supplies
- Carry out stock checks
- Place orders with wholesalers
- Involvement with inventory management, layout and workflow so as to maximise accuracy, sales and profit.
- Attend meetings with board/management as required
- Conduct audits / risk assessments
- Notify MHRA/Drug recall alerts to stakeholders
- Manage/investigate incidents in relation to the pharmacy
- Monday-Friday 9am-6pm
- Flexibility to do occasional Saturdays/Sundays
- Salary £45-65k (dependent upon experience)
- Annual Leave - 25 days' holiday per annum + public holidays
- Pharmacy degree MPharm, BPharm or equivalent.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance.
- Proven post qualification experience working in a pharmacy environment.
