The Clinical Trials and Research Assistant involves working alongside a world-renowned professor coordinating and managing the research trials and projects. The Research Assistant position pays £30k. 23 days of holidays, 9am- 6pm. Location: Mayfair, London

The Research Assistant /Trials Coordinator will be expected to assist with organising, initiating and carrying out multiple funded data collection and research projects but also those not linked to industry-sponsored clinical trials in the following areas: Intermediate, Late (Dry and Wet) Age-Related Macular Degeneration including Gene Therapy as a treatment option, amongst others; Wide-Field OCT and Imaging of the Peripheral Vitreoretinal Interface; Diabetic Macular Oedema; Inherited Retinal Dystrophies; Visual Aids; Vitreous Floaters and Opacities.

Additionally, the role will involve assisting with the analysis of the results of patients seen and treated in the clinic and writing up academic papers which are then sent for publication.

Daily duties for The Clinical Trials and Research Assistant· Ensure regulatory and professional standards of clinical trials are achieved and maintained at all times • Adhere to strict clinical trial timelines • Collect data including diagnostic imaging where appropriate • Maintain clinical trial and patient records according to study protocol and that the trials are conducted by Good Clinical Practice guidelines • Assist in setting up new projects, attend annual scientific ophthalmic meetings (if appropriate) and produce the required study reports and scientific publications • Corresponding with study patients • Prepare lectures and assist in creating material for publication (scientific and promotional). • Play a supporting role in developing, conducting, analysing, and interpreting functional measures of vision, including visual psychophysics research, in conjunction with the leading Professor and the study Sponsor • Assist with organising and executing clinical studies and adapting and developing testing modalities • Financial and Resource Management; The Clinical Trials and Research Assistant is expected to ensure all payments throughout the study are paid and tracked efficiently
