BMS Trend Engineer

Purpose

This role involves full management of bespoke BMS projects of varying values. Responsibilities include technical design, preparing descriptions of operations, producing progress reports, and liaising with clients and stakeholders. The engineer will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with client specifications (e.g., Local Authority and Housing Association standards).
  • Maintain and update job reports to track project progress.

Technical Duties

  • Conduct plant room surveys and perform on-site and off-site panel modifications and testing.
  • Design BMS systems, including strategy writing and on-site strategy modifications.
  • Perform point-to-point testing and commissioning.
  • Create and implement graphic backdrops for BMS systems.
  • Install, configure, and commission Trend 袓 Head End" and "IQ Vision".
  • Provide demonstrations and witness tests to clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Offer remote assistance and control of BMS systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults and technical issues.

Networking and Systems Knowledge

  • Work with Ethernet, LAN, LON, BACnet, M-Bus, and Modbus protocols.
  • Understand heating system configurations, including LTHW, MTHW, and underfloor heating systems.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Health and Safety Policy and all associated procedures.
  • Use PPE correctly, report defects, and address hazards in the work environment.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Apply technical expertise to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified Electrician.
  • Expertise in System Engineering, IQ Engineering, and Strategy Design.
  • Certificate in Asbestos Awareness Training.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with BACnet Network Engineering, SET Comms, and TONN/ES (Trend to Honeywell interfacing).
  • CSCS registration.
  • Certifications in Working at Height, Manual Handling, and First Aid.

Key Skills

  • Exceptional knowledge of Building Management Systems.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to keep up to date with technical advancements and apply new knowledge effectively.

Experience
