Salary: 17.07 per hour + holiday pay, NI, pension + 15% margin
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (On-call and overtime available)
Contract Type: Temp to Perm



Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Plumber/Multi to join our team at The John Howard Centre in Homerton, London. This is a static role based on-site, providing planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance services across 3 sites, with the John Howard Centre as your primary location.

This position involves maintaining plumbing systems and general multi-trade tasks, with on-call duties and overtime available. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in the mental health care or healthcare environment, although experience within other commercial settings will also be considered.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance for plumbing and related systems.
  • Carry out plumbing repairs, installations, and troubleshooting in line with safety standards.
  • Provide out-of-hours call-out cover on a rotating basis (1 in 5 weeks approx.).
  • Travel between sites when required using a pool van provided.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site protocols, especially within a secure mental health environment.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Plumbing bias with Level 2 or higher plumbing qualification (essential).
  • Experience in healthcare or mental health care environments is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within commercial environments also considered.
  • A UK manual driving license (with no bans in the past 3 years and no more than 6 points).
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
  • DBS check (Standard) required for this role.


On-Call & Overtime:

  • On-call requirement: 1 in every 5 weeks approx.
  • Standby allowance of 75 per week for on-call duties.
  • Overtime paid with a minimum of 2 hours per call-out:
    • Time and a half Monday to Saturday.
    • Double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
    • Day off in lieu for call-outs on Bank Holidays.
