Your new companyThis is an excellent opportunity for a senior regulatory compliance professional to join London's leading SME bank. The firm specialises in providing corporate banking products and services, particularly in the real estate finance sector. The position's purpose is to assist the Head of Compliance directly and collaborate with the department to identify and enhance current internal Compliance, AML, and Financial Crime practices. Develop improved procedures to ensure comprehensive compliance with all regulatory, financial, and operational requirements across the Bank. The bank operates on 4 days in the office working model, which will allow you to work 1 day from home. Your new role
- Ensure the Compliance Monitoring Plan aligns with current PRA/FCA regulations, identified products, and risks.
- Annually review and update relevant Compliance policies and procedures, ensuring coverage of PRA/FCA regulations, identified products, and risks.
- Monitor regulatory developments, promote industry best practices, and communicate relevant areas to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company policies and ethics.
- Review internal and external business documents and templates from a legal perspective, providing analysis and feedback as needed.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of compliance documentation, including the Compliance Manual and Prevention of Financial Crime Manual.
- Stay updated on key regulatory changes, proactively communicate with the business, and update policies and frameworks accordingly.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on regulatory issues, business standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in policy writing, development, and implementation (e.g., Compliance Manual, Financial Crime).
- Strong knowledge of regulatory rules/laws, industry issues, and business operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance and regulatory fields.
- Understanding of wholesale banking and/or trade finance.
- Law degree.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Securities Institutes Diploma in Regulation & Compliance, Anti-money Laundering Diploma) are highly desirable.
