Compliance Manager - Drive Regulatory Excellence

(Part Time - 3 days per week, North London, Permanent)

About the Role

As the Compliance Manager, you will provide practical, proactive advice, guidance and oversight to the business. Your role will be instrumental in managing regulatory risks while ensuring alignment with our risk appetite and compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and update policies related to General Insurance.
  • Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR).
  • Regulatory Business Plan.
  • Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
  • Develop and maintain an annual compliance monitoring plan.
  • Ensure version control of key documents.
  • Conduct audits and checks to ensure policies are adhered to.
  • Report findings and make recommendations for policy and procedural improvements.
  • Oversee FCA reporting, authorisations, and submissions.
  • Prepare and update the Consumer Duty Board Pack.
  • Complete insurers’ product governance and fair value questionnaires.
  • Conduct broker third party due diligence for new suppliers and agencies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: At least 5 years in a compliance role, ideally within general insurance.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and key conduct related priorities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for a variety of audiences.
  • Independence: Proven ability to manage a portfolio of work, balancing high-quality delivery with tight deadlines.
  • Proactivity: A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Professionalism: Energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering excellent results.
