Our client is seeking a Compliance Training Manager to join their Global Learning & Development team. The successful candidate will focus on professional development, career advancement, client relationships, and the Firm’s growth. You will build relationships with key stakeholders to assess training needs and promote our development programs.

You will possess excellent stakeholder management skills and professional presence, ideally with experience in the professional services sector or as a former practicing lawyer. You should be comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders globally and managing training programs effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Training

  • Providing legal, compliance, market, and practical expertise to the L&D team.
  • Supporting digital learning solutions for compliance needs, enhancing the Firm’s LMS and development offerings.
  • Collaborating with General Counsel, L&D, and Professional Support teams to identify training needs and prepare the annual budget.
  • Developing and implementing ad hoc compliance/mandatory training requests from General Counsel office or stakeholders.
  • Organising and delivering training, including seminars, workshops, webinars, regional curricula, and e-learning modules.
  • Working with HR Compliance & Immigration to develop and implement training frameworks, monitoring guidelines, and continuously improving the Compliance training framework and curricula.

Stakeholder Management

  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Building and maintaining internal relationships with various client groups, and managing contracts with external trainers and vendors.
  • Providing regular market information from both internal and external sources.

Process and Procedure

  • Overseeing efficient program management processes, continuous improvement, and preparing proposals and project plans for Compliance training initiatives.
  • Attending external training and conferences to stay updated with developments in law and Compliance.

Qualifications and skills

  • Relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor’s/LL.B) or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with outstanding presentation skills.
  • Significant experience in designing and implementing Legal/Compliance training in professional services.
  • Experience in learning & development, learning design, training delivery, learning technology, communications, or related fields; experience as a practising lawyer is advantageous.
  • Global mindset with experience working in global organisations.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills, inclusive and culturally sensitive, with the ability to influence, build relationships, and be a trusted advisor to key stakeholders.
  • Client service-oriented, commercially aware, and credible with a commitment to high professional standards and quality work product.
  • Self-starter, creative thinker, problem solver, and pragmatic, able to work autonomously, handle pressure, and drive change and continuous improvement.
  • Committed team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams, displaying tenacity, a can-do attitude, and eagerness to be involved in new initiatives.
  • Strong organisational, project management, and analytical skills, able to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and foresee emerging trends.
