Our client is a trusted entity at the heart of the global FX ecosystem, making FX safer, smoother and more cost-effective. They are seeking a Director of Operational Risk to join their team in London. This role will be pivotal in formalising and establishing the settlement risk framework, its processes, reporting and engagement model with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll do:
As a Director of Operational Risk, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's mission to make FX safer, smoother and more cost-effective. You will lead discussions with external stakeholders to establish risk appetite, risk management policies and procedures. Your role will involve identifying emerging systemic risks and developing industry-wide solutions to address these issues. You will also contribute to the development of educational materials on systemic risk issues. In addition, you will represent Settlement Risk in all relevant projects to analyse risks and potential changes to any Settlement Risk processes or Risk design.
- Lead and direct the Settlement Risk function by providing credible 2LoD challenge and oversight to the live execution of CLSSettlement, processing and data services.
- Identify emerging systemic risks and develop mitigating actions in partnership with internal and external subject matter experts.
- Contribute to the development of white papers and other educational materials on systemic risk issues.
- Lead the live monitoring and oversight, from 2LoD perspective, of the CLSSettlement, CLSClearedFX, CLSNow and CLSNet services.
- Responsible for decision making on behalf of Risk, via the Project Readiness Board, on the readiness of any deployment/delivery to the JAS and/or Production environments.
- Represent Settlement Risk in all relevant projects to analyse the risks and potential changes to any Settlement Risk processes or Risk design.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Director of Operational Risk position will bring a strategic mindset with an ability to see the big picture. You should be comfortable challenging the status quo and driving innovative thinking to solve complex problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently without close supervision. Experience in Treasury, Liquidity Risk, Balance Sheet / Asset Liability Management, Operational Risk or Credit Risk would be beneficial but not essential. A University Degree (B.A / B.S) is essential; a Post Graduate Degree is desirable.
