We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated expertise in EU / UK regulated financial services company to lead the EU / UK Risk team. You will play a vital role in ensuring that complies with local and global legal and compliance requirements, using a pragmatic approach to balance risk management guidance against competing priorities.

You will join a team that partners across the organization to shape the future evolving risk and compliance programs and where we value ownership, insight, intellectual flexibility, and sound business judgment.

Key job responsibilities:

The role responsibilities cover three areas: (1) Risk Manager for 4 EU / UK licensed entities; (2) Responsible owner for at least two global programs; and (3) Team management.

(1) EU / UK Risk Manager: Lead the risk management program for the EU / UK licensed entities (payments, insurance distribution, and credit broking), including:

  • Roadmap creation, including embedding of risk management mechanisms and support for change management (e.g. product launches, geographic launches, etc.).
  • Monitoring of risk exposure versus entity risk appetite, with escalation as appropriate;
  • Facilitate detailed, data driven narratives to inform leadership/Board members of risk levels, mitigations, and impacts;
  • Incident response support.

(2) Global Programs: Responsible for three global programs (underneath), including development of policies, procedures, toolkits, and other governance documents as necessary:

  • Business Continuity / Operational Resilience;
  • Product Risk Assessment/Material Changes to Business Products;

(3) Team Management:

  • Manage a team of three globally dispersed direct reports through the employee lifecycle (sourcing, onboarding, in employment, and offboarding).

Key skills needed for the role include:

  • Strong risk management skills, with a with proven experience in a risk management role;
  • Manage several projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency;
  • Articulate the three lines of risk management model and help define ownership roles and responsibilities;
  • Coach non-risk professionals on key elements of Risk Management best practices;
  • A pragmatic approach to risk, balancing risk mitigation activities with risk appetite and resource levels;
  • Strong document writing and data analysis skills.
