Head of Compliance

Location - various locations throughout the UK

Hybrid - Mix of home and office (2/3 days a week)

Salary: up to £105k + benefits

MERJE is seeking a highly experienced Head of Compliance for a leading construction consultancy. This pivotal role involves managing the compliance team, overseeing regulatory compliance, and developing key management systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in compliance within a large, global business and possess excellent communication skills.

The Role

As Head of Compliance, you will lead the compliance team for the UK business, reporting to the Group Head of Risk. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing regulatory compliance regimes, managing external audits, and fostering a compliance culture throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Compliance:

  • Develop and oversee regulatory compliance and ethical standards
  • Design and monitor various management systems (QMS, ISMS, PIMS, BCMS, EMS, OHSMS)
  • Act as Data Protection Officer for the UK
  • Manage internal compliance audits and supplier approval processes
  • Monitor emerging legislation globally and advise on compliance strategies

Required knowledge and experience for the Head of Compliance role:

  • Proven track record in compliance within a large, global business
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Professional qualifications such as MBA, AICA, MICA, GradCG/ACG, or Chartered Governance professional
