A small to medium-sized Housing Association in London is looking for an Interim Service Charge Specialist to join them on a 6-month contract (Outside IR35). This role will focus on key service charge analysis, expenditure reviews, and process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in their service charge operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing 2025/26 service charge estimates to ensure they are ready for issue.
  • Reviewing 2023/24 expenditure, analysing where costs have been held back or finalised based on Section 20 considerations.
  • Conducting a full review of 2024/25 year-end service charge expenditure, ensuring costs are accurately assigned and chargeable.
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements, including a more structured review process to avoid year-end bottlenecks.
  • Assessing coding structures to differentiate block vs estate costs and improve cost allocation.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of service charge accuracy and processes within a well-established Housing Association. You’ll have the autonomy to review, recommend, and improve existing methods while ensuring financial clarity across the organisation. A strong service charge analyst with sector experience will thrive in this role. A hybrid working policy is in place with the ideal candidate committing to two days per week in the office.
