A new exciting opportunity with a leading International Bank is looking for an Operational Resilience Manager to join their team, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This is a pivotal role who will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Operational Resilience framework within the Bank.   

The successful candidate will ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, oversee all third-party outsourcing, manage Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and lead data governance initiatives to maintain data integrity and resilience.   

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and manage the operational resilience framework, ensuring business continuity and resilience related to people, processes, technology, and third parties.         
  • Deliver all regulatory requirements during the transition period and manage a testing program to confirm impact tolerance.   
  • Translate policies and regulatory requirements into actionable steps for the business.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in operational resilience capabilities and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate them.
  • Regularly review and update Important Business Services and the self-assessment document.
  • Define impact tolerance for important business services and design testing processes to measure resilience.
  • Engage in audits and coordinate activities with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Document all processes related to Operational Resilience and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Oversee vendor management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage BCP activities, including Business Impact assessments and plan updates.
  • Lead and deliver COO-assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Drive operational efficiency through transformational projects, increasing automation and process efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain the Bank’s data governance framework, ensuring compliance with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of the UK regulatory landscape on Operational Resilience.
  • Experience with Operational Resilience frameworks and vulnerability identification.
  • Knowledge of Third-party Risk Management (TPRM) and Cyber risks.
  • In-depth knowledge of governance frameworks and test management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects/workstreams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
  • Understanding of business continuity concepts and successful track record in relationship management.
  • Financial Services experience is essential.
  • Proficient in project management and data governance principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
