My client, a leading independent planning consultancy based in London, is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Planner to join their dynamic team. Known for providing expert advice to designers, landowners, and developers, my client has built a reputation for delivering clear, persuasive guidance and achieving results. About the Role:As Senior Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning applications, offering expert advice to clients, and ensuring successful outcomes through the increasingly complex planning process. The role will involve working closely with a variety of stakeholders, including local authorities, clients, and designers, to deliver well-managed development projects across London and the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage planning applications from inception through to approval.
  • Provide clear and effective planning advice to clients, designers, and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with local authorities and other key parties to secure positive planning outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
  • Stay abreast of changes to planning policies and regulations, advising clients accordingly.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing expertise and promoting professional development.
  • Assist in business development efforts, cultivating strong client relationships and contributing to new opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a planning role, ideally within a consultancy.
  • Chartered status with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning law and policies, with the ability to apply them in practice.
  • Proven experience managing a range of development projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach to planning challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
