Senior Adviser, Planning and Performance - The Role:

We are looking for a business partner to liaise with different departments to ensure the right performance information is developed, analysed and reported. You will be involved in the production of quarterly performance reports to the Commission Board and monthly management reports to the Executive Team. With knowledge of project management, you will also support project managers and provide advice on subject related matters.

Senior Adviser, Planning and Performance - Key Responsibilities:

- Understand the assigned business area to challenge and improve performance, project, and risk activities, ensuring accurate reporting of achievements and challenges

- Collaborate with Heads of Service to enhance business plans, align work with corporate objectives, and support strategic goals

- Work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to set performance indicators, manage risks, and oversee audit activities

- Provide expert advice, training, and guidance on performance, benefit realisation, and risk management

- Coordinate performance indicator identification and risk management processes to optimise benefits and minimise risks

- Support project managers in performance reviews and change request assessments for impact on performance and risk

- Lead the performance section of the Commission’s Annual Report and Accounts for the assigned business area

- Assist the Planning and Performance Manager in business planning, monitoring, and improving reporting processes

Senior Adviser, Planning and Performance - You:

- Educated to degree level or comparable experience or knowledge

- Demonstrable understanding of project management methodologies and experience of project planning and management

- Experience of performance monitoring and reporting, and developing Key Performance Indicators/Measures and strategic plans

- Experience of policy development and review within the field of performance management or risk management or benefits management

- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office products

- Proactively identify issues or areas for improvement and develop practical solutions

- Persuade, influence, and negotiate with senior leaders and external stakeholders

- Build positive, proactive relationships with senior stakeholders and staff
