MERJE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Manager for a leading insurance Managing General Underwriter. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a newly established Lloyd's of London coverholder, supporting the business in regulatory compliance and decision-making. The successful candidate will have practical Lloyd's experience and knowledge of licensing and reporting.

Salary: £90,000 - £110,000

The Role

The Compliance Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the business as it establishes itself as a Lloyd's coverholder. This position offers autonomy to engage with key stakeholders, including the active underwriter, broker, and managing agent. The role also involves supporting the broader compliance team and business in insurance distribution.

Key Responsibilities of the Compliance Manager:

  • Provide regulatory advice across various subject areas, including licensing
  • Implement practical processes to ensure adherence to Lloyd's principles
  • Design and implement necessary M.I. to monitor compliance
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning, specifically for Lloyd's
  • Produce and maintain business timetables for regulatory reporting deadlines

Required knowledge and experience for the Compliance Manager role:

  • Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Detailed understanding of regulatory requirements, specifically relating to Lloyd's
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
