As a Technical Manager, you will report into the Head of Technical. You will oversee the approval and management of suppliers. Ensures all safety, legal and quality information is captured and assessed within the required timeframes, kept up to date and risks successfully managed.

Description

  • Accountable for the quality, safety, legality, and authenticity of products and supplier performance.
  • Assist the Head of Technical in maintaining and enhancing the food safety and quality management system, ensuring AA Grade certification under the BRC A&B standard, with responsibility for certain procedures and records.
  • Promote and improve food safety culture, ensuring it is a key consideration in decision-making processes.
  • Help develop and implement the technical strategy, leading key policies and projects to drive improvements within the supply base.
  • Manage and support the development of the Category/Senior Food Technologist team.

Profile

  • At least 6 years of experience in food safety and technical roles, with background in both manufacturing and retail/brand settings.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, microbiology, and food regulations.
  • Experience in the chilled food category
  • Skilled in internal and external audits with an understanding of GFSI accreditation requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to work with various suppliers.
  • Experience working with international suppliers and willingness to travel
  • Managed a team with direct reports
  • HACCP level 3 + experience with BRC
  • Degree in food science or a related field.
