Main Contractor - Commercial Fit Out

Central / West London

75,000 - 85,000 and extensive package

CSC Recruitment are working with a market leading Main Contractor who specialises in the fitout sector. They are seeking to recruit an ambitious and forward-thinking Technical Services Manager (MEP Manager) with CAT A and CAT B fit out experience.

The Technical Services Manager will be responsible for managing the construction delivery of MEP services on fit out projects to the agreed outcomes for time, budget, safety and quality requirements. Delivers high-quality, time-efficient and profitable delivery, accountable for compliance, governance and assurance. Responsible for building and retaining relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to support delivery success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all elements of the MEP packages, from design to delivery into service.
  • Ensuring all aspects detailed in the precontract, contract governance, mobilisation, construction, delivery and handover sections are fully adhered to.
  • Managing the relevant subcontractor, to ensure full compliance to these requirements.
  • Promoting and delivering a collaborative environment throughout all members of the team including stakeholders and the supply chain.
  • Ensuring all reports and information defined in the SWI documentation are issued in the time frames stipulated.
  • Ensuring that the programme is maintained and where programme is slipping, advising the project lead in good time.
  • Taking part in decisions affecting cost and programme, such that issues are considered holistically for the good of the overall project.
  • Assisting in the preparation of all programmes, understanding critical path activities, system constraints and interdependencies.
  • Reviewing and commenting on all design information, to ensure it is buildable and commissionable.
  • Ensuring robust method statements, risk assessments are in place and approved, prior to commencement of any works.
  • Leading on all aspects of quality, associated with your package responsibility.
  • Ensuring each handover date, or area completion is achieved snag-free. Ensure works are completed in time.

Your background and experience:

  • Proficient knowledge of planning processes and management, with sufficient understanding of key construction release requirements, systems critical path, tasks/works scheduling and commissioning activities to allow for planning and control of the of a packages or systems during construction..
  • Proficient knowledge of quality assurance process' and & commissioning of single systems to allow full completion of their package or system of responsibility whilst assisting in the integration of systems.
  • Proven track record in delivering projects in excess of 2m+ MEP value.
  • Experience working on fast track fitout projects.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful projects/contribution.
  • Proficiency in building services or a specified engineering discipline.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
  • Good communication skills - written, oral and listening
  • Innovative and adaptable; not fazed by challenges and open to new ways of working.
  • Able to operate in pressurised situations, making decisions and offering concise direction.
  • Setting of clear objectives and supporting others in completing complete tasks.
  • Efficiently plans and manages resources and workloads.
  • Establishes partnerships and relationships with stakeholders.

About you

You will have a relevant degree qualification in Construction or Project Management or Mechanical or Electrical. You are digitally savvy and can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
