An exciting opportunity for a Policy Officer, to join a health membership organisation, in a newly created, permanent role. The chance to take full ownership for developing and delivering policy to improve the lives and experiences of the society’s membership. You will join a small team, where you can influence and develop in the role. You won’t be pigeonholed in this role, you can grow and shape it. The role is suited to a confident communicator, who can build relationships with ease, and bring initiative and ideas from day one.
Key responsibilities: Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Monitoring the political landscape
Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Develop expertise in policy areas related to this health issue and the membership
Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Gather and analyse a range of relevant information to support the work of the external affairs team.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Write briefings, letters, reports and presentations providing relevant evidence for external affairs and communications, the CEO, and Board as needed.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Undertake stakeholder research, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to understand the wider policy and advocacy landscape.
Your experience:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Knowledge of the health landscape (either through a membership organisation, charity or patient facing organisation)
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Experience of the policy environment
-         Excellent written and verbal communications skills – making complex information accessible to different audiences
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Problem solving skills and sound judgement
