Roles and Responsibilities - Primary Teacher - Barking and Dagenham

  • Ensure that teaching materials are prepared, that the classroom is set up, and that displays are arranged
  • The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, teach, and supervise small groups of students
  • Assess the progress of the children's work and talk to parents and carers about the progress of their children
  • Assist teaching assistants with their duties and manage their work
  • Working with educators, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals concerned with safeguarding procedures is essential
  • Organise field trips, sports events, after school clubs, and other activities within the school
  • Attend meetings and training outside of the usual working hours and work as a result of those meetings and trainings
