Are you an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to advance your experience in Education? If you are, we have a fantastic opportunity for you. We are seeking a nurturing TA to join one of our most flourishing mainstream schools in south east London. The role would require you to support a pupil with Autism and ADHD in a 1-1 setting. The school has strong supporting team who strives to be the best in every aspect of education, facilitating a network of dedicated staff who want to make a difference to young pupils future.

To undertake this role, you will be dealing with challenging behaviour and using various reinforcement strategies to provide support for these two boys best challenging position and would require someone who can defuse tough situations.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
  • Some basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers.
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Bachelor's degree (Education Studies, Psychology or Sports Degrees are welcome)
