We are on the hunt for two incredible mainstream Teaching Assistant to work in one of our leading mainstream School located in the Royal London of Lewisham, South East London. As a Mainstream Teaching Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team, where you will be liaising with the year 1 class teacher supporting pupils in a small group.

Ideal Mainstream Teaching Assistant:

  • Graduates who studied either Psychology, Criminology, Education Studies or Creative Arts are welcome to apply!
  • Has experience working with children in a school setting
  • Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
  • A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
  • Establishing good relationships with children, acting as a role model
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children, supporting difference and ensuring that all have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Supporting the child with their learning and development in areas such as literacy, numeracy, Key Stage and/or subject specific
  • 5 GCSE's Including (Maths and English)

Mainstream Teaching Assistant's Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children's achievement and progress
  • Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional well-being of the pupils
  • Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
  • Aware of various types of SEND
