The Opportunity:

Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated and experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class in a large primary school. This role involves working 1:1 with students who require additional support, running small intervention groups, and assisting with phonics sessions where applicable.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure that pupils receive tailored support to help them progress academically and socially.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students who require additional guidance
  • Assist with phonics sessions and literacy interventions, adapting to student needs
  • Work alongside the class teacher to monitor and track progress and attainment
  • Support students with SEN and additional learning needs, ensuring they engage fully in lessons
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage confidence and independence in students through structured support


Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with SEN students, either 1:1 or in small groups
  • Experience leading phonics groups is highly desirable
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, working effectively with teachers and support staff
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare


Additional Information:

  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday
  • Paid up to 105 per day, term time only
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate
  • Based in a large, supportive primary school
  • Immediate start, with potential for a long-term placement
