Reporting to the NPD Manager, the NPD Process Technologist will act as a key link between the product development and the production line.

THE BUSINESS

OUR CLIENT Is a vibrant, fast growing manufacturer of premium snack foods, supplying most of the major multiple retailers, both with branded and retailer own-label products.

THE ROLE

  • Ensure the smooth scale up and manufacturing process development for new products as part of the concept to launch process, ensuring the technical and quality standards are achieved.
  • challenge current factory processes and look for continuous improvement, efficiency and value engineering opportunities to achieve product quality consistently.
  • identify & help launch new technologies to enable the delivery of the company Product Innovation Strategy.
  • Plan, organise and carry out factory trials as part of the EPD and NPD programmes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all company product & process portfolio and work closely with the Technical, Operations & Engineering teams, ensuring effective implementation of changes.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We're looking for a candidate that shows enthusiasm, initiative and is well-organised and reliable.

You will be a passionate, driven 'foodie' with an excellent understanding of fast paced food manufacturing processes. Product consistency throughout the process is essential to meet customer requirements.

Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related subject, alongside previous experience of working within FMCGs in the food manufacturing sector.

Working knowledge of food manufacturing, ideally including Raw material preparation (ie. washing, slicing etc), Extrusion, Frying, Baking, Sheeting, Flavouring processing in either an NPD, Process or Development Technologist role.
