Key Responsibilities:
As Specification Technologist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate product specifications for all finished goods supplied to our customers. Your role will include:
- Creating, managing, and approving product specifications to meet both internal standards and customer requirements.
- Preparing ingredient declarations, nutritional information, and allergen data — including in customer-specific formats.
- Generating accurate and legally compliant pack copy for product labels.
- Reviewing and approving artwork to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with customer guidelines.
- Keeping product data and master records up to date within internal systems.
- Responding to customer queries relating to specifications and providing timely resolutions.
- Staying up to date with food legislation, labelling regulations, and customer technical policies.
- Attending customer meetings, audits, and site visits to present product information when required.
- Collaborating closely with Product Development, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
About You:
We are looking for someone with:
- A relevant qualification in Food Science or a related subject.
- Experience working in a specification or technical role within the food industry.
- A good understanding of retailer specification systems and portals.
- Strong IT skills — particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- A working knowledge of food legislation, labelling regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.
